Job description: Job Title: Technical Writer – TacticalJob DescriptionAs an expert-level Technical Writer dedicated to supporting the Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) group, you will be responsible for developing technical documents and providing expertise in document data and configuration management. This important role will contribute to the overall efforts of developing and maintaining state-of-the-art software solutions for the Canadian Armed Forces.Responsibilities

• Prepare, author, and revise technical documents such as the Canadian Forces Technical Orders (CFTOs), Logistical Support Analysis Records (LSARs), and Equipment Family Trees (EFTs).
• Review technical data packages in collaboration with engineers to ensure accuracy and consistency across the support solution.
• Coordinate activities related to the verification of the final technical data package, track progress, and report status.
• Analyze Document Change Requests and liaise with technical contributors to address requests and prepare Change Packages.
• Implement changes and revisions to the technical data package.
• Review and provide concurrence to changes and revisions, ensuring products are technically accurate and adhere to specifications.

Essential Skills

• 8+ years of experience in Technical Writing, especially for technical products or systems.
• Experience in redacting user-focused documentation such as user manuals and help files.
• Proven ability to work with SMEs to convert technical information into content.
• Eligibility for CGP and Secret Level II Clearance.
• Proficiency in Visio, Excel, Word, Confluence, and SharePoint.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience with MS Office, especially Excel, Word, and Visio.
• Ability to manage documentation projects, including planning, drafting, editing, and publishing.
• Strong editing skills for consistency, accuracy, and adherence to style guides.
• Knowledge of Change Management and Data Management best practices.
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
• Understanding of the DND organization is an asset.

Work EnvironmentYou will work 40 hours per week in a team of 4-8 members, including software developers, testers, and a Product Owner.
