Job description: DESCRIPTIONAmazon Sponsored Products is investing heavily in building a world class advertising business, and we are responsible for defining and delivering a collection of self-service performance advertising products that drive discovery and sales. We are looking for a Senior Software Development Engineer to join the Sponsored Products Bidding team, which is responsible for recommending and dynamically representing advertiser bids in the SP marketplace. This role (open to both L5 and L6 candidates) is unique in that we are looking for a data-oriented SDE – someone who can contribute to our data modeling and data architecture, optimize our offline data processing and simulation infrastructure handling PB-scale data, and help define our business metrics to inform long-term product strategy.Key job responsibilities
As a Sr SDE on SP Bidding, you will be responsible for developing robust, scalable data models and optimizing the consumption of data sources we require to generate unique insights about our business. You will design, develop, and optimize data pipelines and infrastructure, and also contribute to metrics definitions and visualizations to influence key business decisions. You will partner with a cross-functional team of stakeholders, including Applied Scientists, Data Scientists, Product Managers, and other SDEs.BASIC QUALIFICATIONS– 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
– 5+ years of programming with at least one software programming language experience
– 5+ years of leading design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
– Experience as a mentor, tech lead or leading an engineering teamPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS– 5+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
