Posting closing date: December 23, 2024The UMC team works four days a week from our creative campus located in Liberty Village, Toronto and one day of work virtually.Reporting to the Senior Director, Communications, Universal Music Canada is seeking an experienced Associate Manager, Creator Strategy to join our Communications team. The candidate for this role will manage a roster of UMC’s artists and work alongside the associated artist project team (Marketing/Digital Marketing/Communications) in the development and execution of creator strategies and campaigns. Prime candidates have knowledge and experience working with all digital technologies and platforms, have connections in the creator/influencer community, can effectively communicate with artists, artist management teams, internal teams, and executives at UMC, and are comfortable working in a fast-paced, collaborative, team environment.ResponsibilitiesDefine, plan, and execute ambitious and bold creator strategies and campaigns for a roster of domestic and international artists.Work in lockstep with the designated UMC project team (Communications, Marketing, Digital Marketing) to ensure creator relations strategy aligns with the larger strategy for the artist project.Create and maintain a database of creators and social media outlets, based in Canada and internationally.Host invited creators at events and concerts to help strengthen relationships and ensure they have a positive experience.Explore and secure opportunities with creators internationally for our domestic artists.Alongside the corresponding Communications team member, attend and facilitate in person opportunities with the artist and creator including meet and greets, content capture, etc.Manage the full creator process for domestic and international artist projects including creator identification, vetting, pitching, negotiation, contracting, management, and reporting.Stay up to date with the latest creator marketing and communications trends including disclosure requirements and performance best practices alongside the Business Affairs team.Work closely with the streaming and marketing teams to ideate, create, execute, and measure multi-artist campaigns with a focus on growing market share for select genres and developing artists fanbases in Canada and globally.Identify viral, digital word-of-mouth marketing opportunities with the goal of driving traffic, fan acquisition, and creating brand awareness for artists.Drive social media growth for all artists through increased engagement, activity, and relevant content posts.Actively participate in team meetings, discussions, and planning activities.Measure and analyze overall campaign performance and provide insights and key learnings to other departments.Assist in analyzing online promotions and campaign sales impacts, consumer trends, etc.Monitor campaigns regularly to understand effectiveness of strategy, making recommendations for continuous improvement.Report weekly to senior staff and managers, providing actionable insights and campaign updates.RequirementsEducation and/or relevant experienceDeep knowledge of the all genres and emerging talent within the respective scenes.
