Job description: The Market Access Intern will support pricing and reimbursement strategies and tactics for Biogen products in the Canadian affiliate, in all therapeutic areas including MS, SMA, Fredericks Ataxia, ALS, Zuranolone and even Alzheimers if needed. They will collaborate cross-functionally to support market access related strategies and tactics, and the commercial needs of the affiliate.Responsibilities:

  • Monitor current reimbursement trends and sales at the national and provincial level – determine the impact and possible consequences to Biogen and competitors
  • Support pricing initiatives at the affiliate level, including maintenance of the pricing database, and finance-related accruals and any pricing analysis
  • Critically appraise and educate on the anticipated impact of upcoming Policy changes,
  • Work closely with internal stakeholders to incorporate appropriate clinical trials, database registries, and other sources of evidence that can be used to develop clinical and cost-effective approaches to product positioning
  • Work with the team to understand public and private payers and look for opportunities to optimize access for Biogen products in the different therapeutic areas
  • Support the Market Access head where needed
  • Perform company business in compliance with relevant regulations, company policies

and procedures.

Qualifications:

  • Post-graduate education in pharmacy, health economics, finance, or a related field
  • Minimum 3M of hands-on pharmaceutical related experience
  • Strong understanding of the local health care system and pricing and reimbursement requirements for brand-name pharmaceuticals
  • Strong project management skills
  • Strong technical skills in data analytics and forecasting (i.e., Excel, Access)
  • Ability to work across multiple digital platforms and early adoption of new systems/applications
  • Language:
  • Fluent in English, both verbal and written with the ability to communicate effectively cross-functionally spanning all levels of the organization, proficiency in French an asset.
