Join Roche, where every voice matters.The PositionWe are a team of highly experienced and collaborative bioinformaticians and we are seeking a qualified intern to help us leverage generative AI techniques in healthcare applications. Your work will involve research and development of generative AI based applications for multiple bioinformatics domains, including next-generation sequencing (NGS), precision medicine and protein engineering. Working on the crossroads of state of the art in AI and bioinformatics will equip you with the skills and experience of applying state of the art in AI to make a real impact in improving patients’ lives.The opportunity:Review and assess the state of the art in generative AI with an eye on biological applications.Assisting in the training and development of multiple generative AI models for bioinformatics, including next-generation sequencing, precision medicine and protein engineering. This also involves coming up with strategies for training and development of these models.Implementing the methods/algorithms using python and other relevant libraries.Validating the accuracy and performance of the developed models and tools.Ensure that the work is well tested, documented and reproducible.Who you are:You are currently pursuing or have recently completed a Master or PhD degree in a quantitative area (computer/information science, physics, mathematics, bioinformatics or related disciplines).Proficiency in Python coding is required.Experience in working in a Unix-like environment is required since the work will require the use of a high performance computing cluster.Experience in applied machine learning (traditional machine learning as well as deep learning using pytorch).Preferred:Background in probability theory and/or linear algebra is desired.Knowledge and experience on Generative AI is a plus.Knowledge and experience in analyzing biological data and/or biology is a plus.Relocation benefits are not available for this job posting.Who we areAt Roche, more than 100,000 people across 100 countries are pushing back the frontiers of healthcare. Job Description
We are looking for a reliable and hardworking Warehouse Associate to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the accurate and timely flow of merchandise through our warehouse. Your duties will include receiving, storing, and distributing materials, as well as maintaining inventory and organizing warehouse space.
Key Responsibilities:
– Receive and unload incoming shipments
– Inspect and verify incoming goods against purchase orders
– Prepare and pack merchandise for outgoing shipments
– Monitor inventory levels and perform cycle counts
– Organize and maintain warehouse space
– Operate warehouse equipment, such as forklifts and pallet jacks
– Follow safety regulations and maintain a clean work environment
– Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
– High school diploma or equivalent
– Prior experience in a warehouse environment preferred
– Ability to lift and carry heavy objects
– Strong attention to detail
– Good communication skills
– Willingness to work in a fast-paced environment
– Must be able to work independently and as part of a team
