How You Will Contribute:

LOCATION: Canada remote (Ottawa preferred), USA remote (MD preferred)

REPORTS TO: Director, Blue Planet Field Marketing

POSITION OVERVIEW

We are actively seeking a driven and talented intern to play a key role in our field marketing team, supporting our Blue Planet solutions which automate complex networks and operations for Communications Service Providers such as Verizon, AT&T and Telus.

Working closely with sales, the Blue Planet field marketing team designs and delivers multiple digital campaigns throughout the year to help drive new software automation opportunities for Ciena. The team also supports multiple customer and industry-focused events with messaging, content, executive engagement etc.

The successful applicant will help drive customer-focused campaign implementation, with support from other parts of Ciena’s marketing ecosystem such as the portfolio marketing team and external marketing agencies. In addition, the role also involves assisting with the planning and execution of customer-specific events in North America.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist in the timely execution of highly targeted, account-based marketing programs that enable us to grow revenue from Blue Planet solutions
  • Set-up and co-ordinate webinar-based events with key customers such as Verizon and Cox Communications
  • Assist marketing agency partners with setting up ideal customer profiles for campaigns
  • Support sales teams with the identification of new buying centers using tools such as LinkedIn Sales Navigator
  • Provide feedback to sales teams with buying behavior insight from tools such as Demandbase
  • Work with marketing agency partners to ensure customer-specific content, new landing pages etc. are delivered on time and in line with expectations
  • Project manage timelines and key deliverables for customer-specific events in North America
  • Work closely with Blue Planet sales teams to ensure continued alignment with sales objectives and timing of high-visibility sales opportunities
  • Collaborate via Teams and Zoom with internal and external team members

REQUIRED SKILLS

EDUCATIONAL AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

  • Working towards the completion of a bachelor’s degree in marketing management, marketing communications, or business administration.
