Job description: This position assists our engineering/drafting team in creating and updating technical drawings, models, and documentation. This internship offers hands-on experience in CAD software, engineering design, and collaboration with cross-functional teams to support ongoing projects.Essential FunctionsSupport senior drafters and engineers in creating detailed structural drawings and plans
Assist in examining documents such as contract drawings, specifications, and change orders to verify completeness and accuracy of data according to designer’s drawings
Use CAD and Tekla software to produce technical drawings
Collaborate with engineers to interpret design specifications and ensure alignment with project requirements
Review and adjust drawings to meet industry codes, regulations and project standards
Assist in communicating with project team members to coordinate drafting activities and resolve design related issues
Assist in the preparation of design documentation, reports and presentations
Learn and apply industry standards and best practices in structural drafting
Adhere to company policies and safety guidelines throughout all tasks and projects
Company DescriptionQualifications
Currently enrolled in a post-secondary degree or equivalent, or certification from trade/technical school in a related discipline
Knowledge of AutoCAD, Tekla and other similar tools is required
Ability to read, analyze and interpret technical procedures, specifications, governmental regulations, drawings and job specifications
Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
Ability to speak effectively with customers
