Job description: What You’ll Do

As a Cisco MuleSoft Technical Systems Engineer, you’ll lead MuleSoft Implementations and contribute to the DevOps team culture, the platform, and the process to support the sales and marketing business.

  • Analyze and design system requirements
  • Developing MuleSoft applications with agility and urgency and collaborating with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and deliver solutions
  • Design, develop, and maintain MuleSoft APIs and integrations
  • Design reusable assets, components, standards, frameworks, and processes to support and facilitate API and integration projects
  • Document APIs and integrations for internal and external stakeholders
  • Build/Manage Basic CI/CD pipelines (Github, Jenkins, Spinnaker, or similar technologies, etc.)
  • Participate in code reviews ensuring code quality and upholding Cisco’s code of ethics and business conduct
  • Troubleshoot and debug issues with MuleSoft APIs and integrations and handle bug fixing, patching activities, upgrades, and deployments

Who You’ll Work With

As a MuleSoft Technical Systems Engineer, you’ll be working with business analysts to understand requirements, work with different product DevOps to align deployments, and you’ll work with Data Scientists who will rely on your data wrangling and serving expertise to find artificially intelligent ways to enrich the value we deliver to customers. Your team will consist of other Technical Architects who will help craft, develop, and operate with the standard methodologies, and patterns the industry has to offer.

Who You Are

Basic Qualifications

(Must have skills and experience)

  • 5 + years of MuleSoft Cloud/on-premises development experience including Rest, SOAP, or Salesforce integration
  • 5 + years of experience in designing, implementing, and managing APIs
  • 2+ years of experience working in Agile, using the SCRUM methodology
  • 2 + years of tool experience with GitHub, Maven, MUnit, Postman, Splunk, Jenkins, or Spinnaker (Any Equivalent CI/CD tool)
  • 2 + years of experience with configuration, deployment, and testing of enterprise software applications

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledgeable of advanced development concepts
  • Certified in MuleSoft 4.X
  • Experience with complex integrations
  • Good experience working with Mule Batch Jobs
  • Experienced in writing documentation to support the developed integration
  • Previous experience with Kafka and other queuing mechanisms
  • Experience in API Led Connectivity Approach

For non-sales roles the hiring ranges reflect base salary only; employees are also eligible to receive annual bonuses. U.S. employees have to quality medical, dental and vision insurance, a 401(k) plan with a Cisco matching contribution, short and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance and numerous wellbeing offerings. Employees on sales plans earn performance-based incentive pay on top of their base salary, which is split between quota and non-quota components. For quota-based incentive pay, Cisco typically pays as follows:

.75% of incentive target for each 1% of revenue attainment up to 50% of quota;

1.5% of incentive target for each 1% of attainment between 50% and 75%;

1% of incentive target for each 1% of attainment between 75% and 100%; and once performance exceeds 100% attainment, incentive rates are at or above 1% for each 1% of attainment with no cap on incentive compensation.

For non-quota-based sales performance elements such as strategic sales objectives, Cisco may pay up to 125% of target. Cisco sales plans do not have a minimum threshold of performance for sales incentive compensation to be paid.
