This individual is a hybrid of detail-oriented executor and strategic thinker—comfortable owning day-to-day campaign activities while supporting broader client initiatives. The Client Strategist will collaborate across departments and with external media partners, ensuring campaigns are aligned to performance targets, client goals, and evolving market insights.Key Responsibilities:
- Support the Media Director with the development of comprehensive media plans across all channels
- Maintain and checking of Budget Control Reports
- Review, check and recheck preliminary client billings and final client invoices
- Brief media vendors and/or execution teams, and manage ongoing vendor communications to maintain strong relationships.
- Build and maintain accurate flowcharts and track actualized budget reporting for client campaigns.
- Leverage demographic data, consumer profiles, and client-provided insights to identify and refine target audiences.
- Utilize agency research tools to support the crafting of strategic and data-backed media recommendations.
- Issue insertion orders and ensure contractual accuracy across media types not supported by an activation team (e.g., print, digital, OOH).
- Collaborate with creative partners by issuing detailed media specifications and ensuring alignment with media strategy.
- Participate in regular client status updates, updating the status documents weekly
- Stay current with emerging media trends, tools, platforms, and best practices.
Measurable Goals:
- On-Time Delivery: 95% of all media plans and reports delivered on or before the agreed timeline.
- Budget Accuracy: Maintain media budgets within a variance threshold of ±2%.
- Campaign Performance: 90% of campaigns meet or exceed defined KPIs (reach, engagement, conversions, etc.).
- Client Satisfaction: Maintain client satisfaction scores above 8/10 (via quarterly feedback or internal reviews).
- Optimization Impact: Implement campaign optimizations resulting in a minimum 10% performance uplift, where applicable.
- Professional Development: Complete all required certifications (e.g., Google Analytics, Fundamentals) within six months and remain current annually.
Qualifications:
- 1-2 years of experience in media planning, buying, or a related role within a marketing or advertising agency.
- Strong understanding of media fundamentals, including media math, reach/frequency concepts, audience segmentation, and campaign structure.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and translate insights into actionable strategies.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects and competing deadlines with precision and calm under pressure.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; confident presenting to internal and external stakeholders.
- Highly skilled in Excel, with an understanding of formulas and functions. Able to build spreadsheets and BCRs, comfortable sorting data.
