As the Communications and Design Intern at Right To Play, you will play a crucial role in supporting the
organization’s communications strategies, brand positioning, and visual content creation initiatives. You
will work closely with experienced professionals in the field to create engaging and impactful visual
content that helps the organization advance its mission and strategic priorities.WHAT YOU’LL DO:
#1: Graphic design and visual content creation (50% of Time):

  • Assist in the development of high quality internal and external communication material
  • Support project management of ongoing content production, working with col eagues to ensure

assets are delivered on time and that al supporting documentation/assets are received.

  • Help to prepare simple visual assets on Canva (graphic design platform)
  • Create visual content for multiple purposes, including the design of web graphics, social media

marketing assets, infographics, motion graphics, and printing material.

  • Utilize design principles to create graphic templates to be used by other communication

specialists across the organization.

  • Edit short videos to enhance storytel ing and engagement, ensuring high-quality output.
  • Collaborate with organization’s international offices to create internal communication assets

and providing guidance regarding visual content creation.#2: Image and video database (20% of Time):

  • Support the management of Right To Play’s online photo and video library in Dropbox, and

SmugMug, including uploading, organizing, and managing multimedia assets.

  • Keep track and storage of the audiovisual material collected for use on the creation of graphic

collateral.

  • Assist in updating the published story tracker with the new stories created by the organization.

  • Support team in the development of strategies and related content for direct and digital

marketing and advertising campaigns and implementation of them.

  • Contribute to other marketing and communications initiatives and activities as needed.

WHAT YOU’LL BRING (ESSENTIAL):EDUCATION/TRAINING/CERTIFICATION:

  • Enrolled in or graduated from a post-secondary program in the area of graphic design,

multimedia design, video production or communications.EXPERIENCE:

  • Experience in graphic design

COMPETENCIES/PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES:

  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines

effectively.

  • Creative thinking and a keen eye for detail, eager to produce compel ing visual content.
  • Self-starter who can manage own tasks
  • Collaborator with a desire to work with and learn from a team.

KNOWLEDGE / TECHNICAL SKILLS:

  • Strong understanding of graphic design principles, branding concepts, and visual storytelling

techniques.

  • Basic knowledge of graphic design software like Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Photoshop, as well

as the design platform Canva.
LANGUAGES:

  • Fluency in spoken and written English.

  • Skills in photography, videography and/or animation.
  • Strong writing skills.
  • Experience working or volunteering in not-for-profit organizations.
