Description:

Our client is a leading technology company seeking a Data Analyst to join their team in Toronto, ON. The successful candidate will be responsible for analyzing large datasets to provide insights that drive business decisions. Duties will include interpreting data, analyzing results, and developing reports to support ongoing business initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

– Collecting and interpreting data
– Analyzing results to provide insights
– Developing and implementing databases, data collection systems, data analytics, and other strategies that support ongoing business initiatives
– Identifying, analyzing, and interpreting trends or patterns in complex data sets
– Filtering and cleaning data, as well as reviewing computer reports, printouts, and performance indicators to locate and correct code problems
– Work with management to prioritize business and information needs
– Generate weekly and monthly reports
– Develop and implement databases, data collection systems, data analytics, and other strategies that optimize statistical efficiency and quality
– Acquire data from primary or secondary data sources and maintain databases/data systems
– Locate and define new process improvement opportunities

Qualifications:

– Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or related field
– Proven experience as a data analyst or related role
– Technical expertise regarding data models, database design development, data mining, and segmentation techniques
– Strong knowledge of and experience with reporting packages, databases (SQL, etc.), programming, and statistical software
– Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy
– Adept at queries, report writing, and presenting findings
– Experience in working with large data sets and relational databases
– Understanding of machine learning and other advanced analytical techniques
– Excellent communication and presentation skills
– Ability to work independently and with a team
