Reporting to the Vice President, A&H Insurance and partnering with the Vice President, New Business Development, through existing broker relationships, the incumbent will develop sales strategies and produce new business sales that increase market presence and revenue for RMA’s Accident and Health and Specialty Insurance products while delivering on profitable growth plans in Canada. Leveraging data and market insights to proactively identify and expand a broker client base that delivers sustainable business results.
The incumbent will be an innovative and resourceful sales leader with excellent communication skills. Confident working independently in a high-growth environment with client and team-focused skills. Can easily balance both strategic and tactical capabilities.
Core Accountabilities

  • Establish a forward-thinking, business development and sales strategy and translate it into realistic action plans. Plans include monthly and annual forecasts to achieve revenue targets.
  • Build a sustainable sales culture and promote the long-term sales strategy and activities for various product offerings and services.
  • Expand company revenue through superior marketing and sales efforts with broker clients.
  • Develop digital marketing strategy to expand market presence and growth opportunities
  • Create, analyze, and regularly report on sales performance
  • Advise on the impact of new sales strategies and any regulatory action.
  • Identify, analyze, and report on known and emerging industry trends and risks.
  • Create a culture of accountability to ensure execution and delivery against sales targets.

Qualifications

  • Experienced insurance sales leader with a history of success and closing transactions.
  • Knowledge and understanding of group Accident & Health and Specialty Insurance products.
  • Knowledge of the Commercial insurance market and products would be an asset.
  • Bilingual – English and French would be an asset.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business or Marketing; an MBA would be an asset.
  • LLQP, RIBO or CIP designation would be an asset.

Experience and Expertise

  • Demonstrated ability to plan and execute; experienced roll-up-your-sleeves strategist.
  • Extensive network of relationships with insurance carriers, brokers, and industry groups.
  • Strong understanding of life and health regulatory requirements, expectations, and business impacts.
  • Advanced communicator who can work comfortably at all levels of the company with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • A self-starter with an ability to work with ambiguity, create new solutions, and think analytically.
