Senior Software Engineer

Interactive Brokers is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join our expanding Vancouver Development Center. This individual will be part of a team that will develop and maintain complex software systems at Interactive Brokers, the leading online trading firm. The position is ideal for a dedicated and highly skilled software development professional with a deep understanding of Advanced C++ (at least C++ 11) who is looking to apply this knowledge in a dynamic, real-world environment.

Responsibilities:

– Developing new and maintaining existing software systems
– Implementing new software component designs
– Working closely with other members of the development team
– Collaborating with other teams across the organization
– Providing technical expertise to the team and organization
– Contributing to software design, architecture, and code reviews
– Analyzing and improving system performance and stability
– Participating in the full lifecycle of software development, from design and implementation to validation and support
– Mentoring junior team members

Qualifications:

– Bachelor’s or higher degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or related field
– Expert-level programming skills in Advanced C++
– Experience developing software systems in a Linux environment
– Strong understanding of multi-threading, performance optimization, and data structures
– Solid software design and architecture skills
– Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail
– Collaboration and communication skills
– Experience working in the financial industry is a plus
