Job description: Temporary position for 5 monthsThe property and casualty insurance sector is facing a multitude of key trends that are leading it to change and adapt at a rapid pace: accelerating digitization and the emergence of new technologies (telematics, artificial intelligence, insurtechs, etc.); changing customer needs (growing demand for personalized experiences, etc.); increased regulatory requirements; growing emphasis on sustainability and environmental, social and governance (ESG) issues; pressure on traditional cost structures and revenue streams, etc. The decisions made by industry players to create winning conditions for the future are critical. Like a team of external strategy/management consultants, our business strategy team focuses on growing and improving the business through strategic planning and execution by guiding the organization’s key stakeholders in making major decisions. As a Corporate strategy, property and casualty insurance, Intern , you facilitate decision-making at the senior leadership level by developing credible, fact-based analysis to support recommendations on the best corporate strategy to adopt. You need to be creative, share ideas and help solve problems using your analytical skills and in-depth knowledge of the organization’s objectives and priorities. You effectively and succinctly articulate complex ideas verbally, in written form and with slides/charts. You must have strong analytical skills, including the ability to collect, analyze and interpret data to inform strategic decision-making. You work with different stakeholders, so you need to be able to collaborate with cross-functional teams, including technical specialists, subject matter experts and senior decision-makers. You need to influence them and gain their trust. More specifically, you will be required to :Analyze and interpret data from multiple heterogenous sources to guide the decision-making processAnalyze markets and industries to inform decision-making on critical initiatives for the organizationDevelop executive-ready communication materials / slides with recommendations and supporting fact-baseBuild strong relationships with key stakeholders and work with cross-functional teams to implement strategic initiativesStay informed and contribute to the analysis of industry trends and emerging technologies by assessing their potential impacts on the organization.What you bring to the tableStrong academic results in a relevant disciplineProficiency in PowerPoint and ExcelAdvanced proficiency in French and English, both oral and written, as the position involves interactions with French and English-speaking stakeholders Action oriented, Customer Focus, Differences, Nimble learning#LI-HybridTrade Union (If applicable)At Desjardins, we believe in equity, diversity and inclusion.
