Job description: Join our teamAs the Director of Channel Marketing, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and executing the strategic vision for TELUS’ Commercial and Public Sector (C&PS) team. Reporting directly to the Vice President, Marketing, you are integral to supporting our leadership team and driving growth for our business coupled with extraordinary experiences and outcomes for our customers. You will work cross-functionally with Sales, Product, and Enablement teams to ensure alignment of channel marketing strategies with business objectives. You will be responsible for managing and enabling our sales channels across different customer segments, encompassing the full customer journey for both prospects and existing customers. You will implement data-driven channel-specific marketing initiatives, segment and channel-based product marketing, enablement resources, and sales incentive programs that motivate channels to effectively and successfully sell and market our offerings. Your strategic vision will be critical in identifying new channel opportunities and adapting to the evolving landscape.Here’s How
- Develop and execute a strategic channel marketing vision encompassing the full customer journey, by segment and sales channel.
- Determine what to market and how to position it by segment.
- Lead integrated digital marketing and demand generation for prospects.
- Oversee Account-Based Marketing (ABM) focused on increasing wallet share and product intensity of existing customers. This includes emphasizing an account-level focus for Enterprise and Public Sector segments, moving away from mass targeting. Support targeted marketing for strategically selected ENT accounts.
- Activate sales through training and engagement.
- Develop and execute indirect sales and marketing strategies.
- Create channel-specific marketing programs, enablement resources, and incentive structures, such as Marketing-Funded SPIFFs.
- Define and track channel-specific performance metrics, including channel sales performance, the effectiveness of channel programs, channel satisfaction, and the overall contribution to revenue and growth.
- Ensure tailoring of solution/product messaging, branding, and value propositions by segment and key vertical.
- Drive the evolution and tailoring of digital demand generation tactics, especially for prospects in the Mid Market segment where prospect development is critical.
- Collaborate closely with sales VPs and other business units to align strategies and identify key accounts.
- Provide strategic direction for content strategy, ensuring collateral, case studies, and thought leadership support segment and channel needs.
What you bring
- Proven experience in developing and executing strategic channel marketing strategies.
- Strong competency in channel enablement across different customer segments (e.g., Enterprise, Public Sector, Mid Market).
- Expertise in developing and executing indirect sales and marketing strategies.
- Deep understanding of and experience with Account-Based Marketing (ABM) for complex B2B/Public Sector environments.
- Strong understanding of channel-specific performance metrics and ROI measurement.
- Experience with digital demand generation tactics tailored for prospects, including SEM and targeted advertising (e.g., LinkedIn Ads).
- Ability to translate product-centric messaging into customer-centric and segment-centric value propositions.
- Experience with sales activation, training programs, and enablement tools (e.g., Highspot).
- Familiarity with leveraging data and AI insights for improved targeting and segmentation (e.g., Next Best Product, AI-assisted Solution Selling).
- Strong leadership, strategic thinking, and marketing acumen.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with Sales teams, Product, Technical Sales, and other stakeholders.
- Understanding of customer journey mapping and marketing functions across different stages (Learn, Buy, Get, Use, Pay).
- Experience with sales incentives (SPIFFs) and sales compensation alignment.
- Experience managing teams responsible for various marketing functions including demand generation, ABM, product marketing, sales activation, and content.
