Join us today and experience Life at Visa.Job DescriptionThe Director, Content Strategy and Social Platforms is part of the Global Content Strategy, Development & Distribution team, reporting into the Senior Director of Content Strategy. This individual will be part of a global team responsible for developing and scaling best-in-class social content on behalf of Visa’s marketing positioning and voice.This individual will combine social- and community-first insights with deep platform expertise to ideate, execute and optimize Visa’s hero and tentpole content across global social platforms. This person should have a passion and experience in:Transforming social data into social insights that can fuel creative, content and campaigns across priority platforms, including TikTok, Instagram, YouTube and X.Identifying communities, conversations and cultural moments (via social listening and analysis) at the intersection of on-trend and on-brand.Generating and executing innovative, social-first ideas during high-profile brand and cultural moments, particularly those across Sports, Music, and Travel.Leading cross-functional teams to brainstorm, refine, and execute global social campaigns and content across priority platforms.Translating platform-level best practices, algorithm shifts and competitive intelligence into strategic recommendations and creative territories.Establishing deep relationships with external (agencies, platforms) and internal partners to concept, refine, and execute best-in-class social content and campaigns.Overseeing the planning, management and optimization of complex social calendars, inclusive of high-profile tentpole activations, creator collaborations, and VIP talent integrations.Coaching and teaching members of the team – both direct reports and collaborators – how to create and execute social-first concepts and strategies that are right sized to the moment.Essential FunctionsUncover and apply social insights and platform best practices to concept, plan, and publish bespoke content designed to breakthrough on priority channels, especially during hero and tentpole moments.Write social briefs for priority tentpoles and brand campaigns that lead to best-in-class social-first creative and concepts.Partner with external agencies and internal stakeholders on both high-budget and quick-turn projects, inspiring creative confidence and modeling collaboration, a bias to yes, and adaptability.Lead internal and external brainstorms based on social insights. Evaluate and prioritize outputs for consideration, planning and resourcing.Inspire and rally stakeholders of all levels by developing and presenting social-first analyses, reports and POVs.Connect internal brand priorities and KPIs to platform trends and content best practices. Recommend strategies and tactics needed to capitalize on real-time and long-tail opportunities.Partner with a team of Creative, Editorial and Community specialists to translate priority brand campaigns and sponsorships into social-first experiences and extensions.Set and model high strategic standards, leading through example and inspiring partnership and learning across cross-functional and regional teams.Mine, track and identify trends from the Visa community that can inform future strategies, franchises and campaigns.This is a hybrid position. Expectation of days in office will be confirmed by your Hiring Manager.QualificationsBasic Qualifications:

  • 10 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or at least 8 years of work experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters/ MBA/JD/MD) or at least 3 years of work experience with a PhD.
  • 8+ years of experience in social/digital strategy roles leading and managing complex social marketing handles and content.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Deep experience with social media platforms, as demonstrated through an understanding of the unique languages, algorithms, and advertising model of each major platform.
  • Proven ability to ideate, influence and implement new content/creative strategies and formats across multiple social platforms and content types (with an emphasis on hero/tentpole work).
  • Fluency working with large social data sets to uncover and articulate community-driven insights that can fuel creative, content and campaign recommendations.
  • Experience writing social briefs for internal and external partners, plus an ability to distill complex programs into prioritized action plans.
  • Proficiency leading social-first brainstorms with internal and external teams, with a proven record of delivering concrete conceptual and creative recommendations.
  • Extremely organized with keen attention to detail.
  • Experience collaborating across complex global teams
  • Bias for action, not bureaucracy, with an ability to act quickly while rallying cross-functional teams.
  • Proven ability to drive results with a high degree of personal initiative and subject matter expertise in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Strong leadership experience with a desire to mentor and grow teams.
  • Content strategy, financial services or payments industry experience preferred.
