Job description: Job Summary RBC’s Online Banking is a foundational digital channel for our customers and the bank, serving nearly 6 million clients digital banking needs and enabling digital experiences across multiple RBC channels.As the role of RBC’s digital channels evolve, we will redefine the role Online Banking plays in the client journey, working in concert with our other critical channels including Mobile banking and the Advisor Channels. Online Banking will play a pivotal role in enabling clients’ ability to do things digitally, whether enabling their daily banking or supporting them through more complex servicing needs.In this role, you will be leading a team of product managers responsible for defining the strategy and the outcomes and working with a delivery team consisting of project managers, design, software engineers and quality engineers.Job DescriptionWhat will you do?

  • Define the strategy for the Online Banking channel product portfolio, to answer the why, the what and the how.
  • Define and collaborate with their partners to create a strategic product roadmap that will deliver on the channel strategy.
  • Identify in the roadmap defined what products will require a go-to-market strategy and work with the corresponding partners (marketing, analytics, etc) to ensure the outcomes and objectives are achieved.
  • Manage and triage daily requests related to ongoing channel operations including technical issues, communication requests and channel experience.
  • Define, develop, and implement OKRs for the portfolio with a clear connection with online OKRs and the products powering them.
  • Lead the ongoing monitoring and review of OKRs and have product discussions about the impact on the outcomes. Work with analytics partners to develop the OKRs and make them accessible to the rest of the mobile team and leadership.
  • You will be a people leader for a group of product managers where you are expected to lead through the RBC values but also become an inspirational leader. You will also partner with leadership across the product, technology and design as a member of the Online Channel and Platforms leadership team.
  • Online Banking Channel being a horizontal, you will partner with and manage different stakeholders across RBC

What do you need to succeed?Must have’s :

  • 7+ years of experience as a digital product manager.
  • Proven experience in shipping products to market and managing a product portfolio.
  • High level of strategic thinking is required, to map client problems to business outcomes.
  • Empathy to understand client needs and collaborate with design and client research teams.
  • Working experience leading delivery teams using a variety of project methodologies (iterative waterfall, Agile)
  • Experience managing teams of 5+ people within a matrix environment.
  • Understanding of software products and development.
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills required to manage communications to all stakeholders, and to communicate different content, from strategies to issue resolution or go to market strategies.
  • High level of analytical thinking to identify client problems and mapping them to business outcomes.
  • High level of general management skills including, but not limited to, leading, negotiating, communicating and team building.

Nice to have:

  • Previous RBC or Financial Services experience would be an asset
  • Previous experience managing products on mobile apps would be an asset
  • Knowledge of business P&L and portfolio/project finance.
  • MBA would be an asset.
  • Certification in Technology or Computer Science would be an asset

RBC’s Online Banking serves nearly 6 million clients and is integral to RBC’s digital strategy. As a leader in this role, you will guide a team of product managers to redefine Online Banking’s impact in the customer journey, coordinating with Mobile Banking and Advisor Channels.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategy Development: Define the product portfolio strategy for Online Banking, including actionable roadmaps.
  • Go-to-Market Coordination: Collaborate with stakeholders to develop and execute strategies for new product launches.
