This department is responsible for the strategy, development and execution of meetings, events and conferences for the IG Wealth Management advisor network and any IGM financial events. The vision and mission of the Field Event Marketing team is to produce best in-class events that champion organizational culture, build brand affinity, and support the business strategy. We do this through connecting, educating, informing and inspiring attendees through providing comprehensive and strategic expertise delivered by a team of professionals who are committed to excellence in execution, innovation, and fiscal responsibility, while meeting the goals and objectives of the business owner and corporation.This individual will be responsible for leading the shared services functions that support all IG/IGM events which would include sourcing strategy for destinations & venues, digital/virtual strategy integration and execution, execution of the Marketing & Communication strategy, creative production development, event registration management, data reporting and logistics management. Additionally, a key responsibility would include Financial Management of the event budgets, including reconciliation, charge backs and taxable benefit calculations and allocation.The successful incumbent is part of the event Marketing leadership team and will work closely with the leadership team to support overall event strategy development and execution. The work of this role focuses on process management, financial management, efficiency and effectiveness while ensuring the management of all operational and logistical elements.Main Accountabilities:
- Leading the management of event related shared services functions supporting overall event logistics including vendor management. This includes delivery of all outbound marketing and communications including templating and translation, data reporting to support event KPI’s and key stakeholder requirements, development of event registration strategy and management of the development and launch, managing the creative production process, with the team lead and the internal agency to write the brief, brief the agency and production of all creative assets & key deliverables. Also includes management of the translation process and SLA’s with internal team & key business partners for all program elements.
- Leading the development of the hotel strategy and management of block, attrition, and rooming lists as part of the contracted commitment and leading the team through management of Food & beverage, décor and entertainment in partnership with program lead.
- In partnership with the program event lead, support the development of the digital strategy for virtual and hybrid events. This includes leading the Team that will build and manage the virtual platform, the conference website, and develop and manage the mobile app strategy and fulfillment. Key role is to lead the production integration of the live event and virtual event to ensure a quality overall virtual client experience in partnership with the program lead.
- Build annual event budgets in partnership with internal team and external business partners. Includes building the initial budgets for each event as part of the annual planning process, transition of approved program budgets to the program lead. Position will also have oversight and accountability for the reconciliation process to SAP, any commission charge backs, the annual taxable benefit process supporting the incentive programs and annual accruals.
- Position will be responsible for aggregate financial management of the overall event budgets and work closely with the event leadership team and Finance, including regular reporting and variance management. Requires regular analysis and revisions supporting corporate priorities and program goals and objectives. Key partners will be the event lead and Finance.
Experience and Education:
- University Degree in a related discipline
- CMP or CMM Certificate
- DES Certificate (Digital Event Strategist)
- 7+ years experience working in the event industry with leadership experience. Experience in leading virtual/hybrid events. Experience in a corporate environment.
- Understanding of the financial services industry, experience in Marketing & Communications and previous financial management.
