8am-4pm

Knowledge of testing tools and documentation like confluence, jiraAs a member of the Application Engineering department within Zebra Technologies’ growing Machine Vision and Imaging business, this QA team role ensures that our software products are functioning at the highest quality standards in order to meet or exceed the business requirements of our global partners and customers. The Software QA Test Technician performs the following duties: runs tests and diagnostics on preliminary/prototype software programs; tests prototypes using standard lab equipment/processes; maintains records of code tests and changes/documents results; and supports engineering with documentation creation and validation.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Follows established processes to create and test products, software and applications.
Works from written and verbal descriptions, or defined plans to perform testing, checkout and trouble- shooting functions.
Performs operational test and fault isolation on software programs. Determines methods or actions to remedy malfunctions.
Assists in the design, test and check-out of test equipment.
Performs audits and tests of software products in accordance with test plans and procedures.
Debugs and characterizes defects
Provides detailed configuration and descriptions for passing and failing tests for product evaluation reports
Identifies actual or potential problems in test plans or company products.
Records results of tests and maintains lab documentation as required.
Assists product development engineers in the diagnosis and replication of product failures.
Analyzes test results and makes recommendations. .
Works with latest technologies and new approaches.
Reviews changes/upgrades to existing designs and completes testing for each revision
Reviews, validates and updates engineering documentation.
Under manager direction, will participate in software release process.
Normally follows established procedures on routine work
Assignments require some judgement
Limited role in decision making
Receives direction only on new assignments

o Typically requires an AEC or DEC in computer science or systems
o May be considered an apprentice or a traineeMinimum Work Experience (years): Typically requires a minimum of 0-2 years of related experience
Key Skills and Competencies:
o Provides administrative or technical support at intermediate level
o Has good knowledge of Microsoft Windows 7, 10 and 11
o Has good knowledge of Linux distribution (Ubuntu, Red Hat, Suse)
o Knowledge of PC architecture
o Ability to use MS-Word, MS-Excel and other office applications
Licenses/Certifications, special qualifications:
o Knowledge of applicable software programming (Microsoft Visual Studio, Python) and applications
Equivalencies:
o Equivalent vocational qualification/ experience
