Job Description:

Scarborough Centre for Healthy Communities is currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate Child and Youth Worker to join our dynamic team. As a Child and Youth Worker, you will be responsible for providing support and guidance to children and youth facing various challenges, including mental health issues, addictions, and social difficulties.
Responsibilities:
– Work closely with children and youth, providing individual and group counselling, crisis intervention, and advocacy services
– Develop and implement personalized treatment plans and activities to address the specific needs of each client
– Collaborate with families, caregivers, and external service providers to ensure a holistic and comprehensive approach to care
– Assess client progress, document observations, and maintain accurate records in compliance with agency policies
– Participate in team meetings, case conferences, and training sessions to enhance professional development and knowledge sharing
– Contribute to program development and evaluation to improve services and outcomes for children and youth
Qualifications:
– Diploma or degree in child and youth care, social work, psychology, or related field
– Minimum of 2 years of experience working with children and youth in a community-based or residential setting
– Strong understanding of trauma-informed care, harm reduction principles, and anti-oppression practices
– Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills
– Ability to work independently, as well as part of a multidisciplinary team
– Clear criminal record check and vulnerable sector screening
