Position Overview:

We are seeking a FICA Tax Compliance Specialist to join our finance team. This role is essential in ensuring compliance with the Federal Insurance Contributions Act (FICA) tax requirements. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of payroll tax regulations and a meticulous attention to detail.

Key Responsibilities:

• FICA Tax Calculation: Accurately calculate FICA taxes due on employee wages and ensure timely remittance to the IRS.
• Compliance Monitoring: Stay updated with federal tax regulations and interpret their implications for the organization.
• Reporting: Prepare and submit regular and year-end payroll tax reports, maintaining accurate records for audits and regulatory bodies.
• Collaboration: Work closely with HR, accounting, and payroll departments to ensure accurate reporting and compliance with FICA and other payroll-related taxes.
• Issue Resolution: Address and resolve any issues related to FICA tax deductions or reporting discrepancies in collaboration with internal stakeholders and external authorities.
• Process Improvement: Identify and recommend enhancements to current processes to improve efficiency and compliance related to FICA tax management.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Proven experience in payroll processing or tax compliance, preferably with a focus on FICA.
• Strong understanding of federal tax regulations and payroll practices.
• Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to communicate complex tax information clearly to non-experts.
• Proficient in payroll software and Microsoft Office Suite.
