Overview:
Northwestern Mutual, recognized as a leader in financial security solutions, is seeking a detail-oriented FICA Tax Compliance Specialist. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring compliance with Federal Insurance Contributions Act (FICA) tax regulations and processing payroll in alignment with federal requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee the accurate calculation and processing of FICA taxes for employees, ensuring compliance with federal regulations.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of changes to FICA tax laws and regulations and implement necessary changes in payroll processes.
• Collaborate with HR and Payroll teams to verify the accuracy of employee data related to FICA tax reporting.
• Prepare and review FICA tax filings, including Form 941 and federal year-end reports, ensuring timely submission to the IRS.
• Conduct regular audits of payroll records to identify discrepancies and implement corrective actions as needed.
• Provide guidance and support to employees regarding FICA tax questions and concerns.
• Assist in the training of HR and payroll staff on FICA tax compliance procedures and best practices.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
• 2+ years of experience in tax compliance, particularly in payroll tax including FICA.
• Strong understanding of federal payroll tax regulations and reporting requirements.
• Detail-oriented with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Proficient in payroll software and MS Excel.
• Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
