As a Federal Insurance Contributions Act (FICA) Tax Compliance Specialist at Northwestern Mutual, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accurate calculation, reporting, and compliance of FICA taxes for our diverse portfolio of employees and clients. Your expertise will directly contribute to the financial integrity of our operations while aligning with federal regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Tax Calculation & Reporting: Oversee the precise calculation of FICA taxes for payroll and other compensation forms, ensuring adherence to federal guidelines.

• Compliance Monitoring: Stay updated on FICA-related legislation and policies, implementing necessary adjustments to maintain compliance with current laws.

• Data Analysis: Analyze payroll data to identify discrepancies, validate FICA contributions, and resolve any issues proactively.

• Collaboration: Work closely with the payroll, finance, and HR teams to ensure seamless communication and reporting practices related to FICA taxes.

• Audit Support: Assist in internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and reports related to FICA tax adherence.

• Training & Education: Provide guidance and training to staff regarding FICA regulations and compliance best practices.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Proven experience in tax compliance, specifically concerning FICA and payroll taxes.
• Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
• Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
• Proficiency in payroll systems and tax compliance software.
