Your duties will include:
- Assisting in conducting geotechnical desktop studies
- Conducting field investigations and geotechnical site assessments
- Assisting in the collection and analysis of soil and rock samples
- Participating in dam safety inspections and reviews
- Performing geotechnical analyses using software tools and techniques
- Assisting in the preparation of technical reports and presentations
- Collaborating with senior engineers and project managers on various geotechnical projects
- Ensuring compliance with relevant industry standards and regulations
- Contributing to the development of innovative solutions to geotechnical challenges
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, or a related field
- 0-4 years of relevant experience in geotechnical engineering or related field
- Strong understanding of geotechnical principles and soil mechanics
- Familiarity with inputs and outputs for geotechnical software, such as SLOPE/W or SLIDE and SETTLE3D
- Excellent written and verbal English communication skills
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Strong attention to detail and analytical skills
- Knowledge of relevant industry standards and regulations
Desired Competencies:
- Master’s degree in Geotechnical Engineering or related field
- Previous internship or co-op experience in geotechnical engineering
- Familiarity with geotechnical field testing methods and equipment
- Experience with more advanced geotechnical software packages such as PLAXIS, GeoStudio
- Knowledge of slope stability analysis and foundation design
- Engineer-in-Training (EIT) registration
- Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize workload effectively
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to think creatively
- Demonstrated commitment to professional development and continuous learning
