Overview
The Head of E-Commerce Marketing is accountable for leading a team to scale Voilà, Sobeys’ e-commerce brand and online shopping experience. This includes the go-to-market strategy, brand and creative, customer acquisition and retention, site and app content, site merchandising and digital analytics and reporting. Lead effort to scale delivery and curbside pickup service offerings across 10 provinces.
Job Description
Go-to-market plan and strategy
- Lead the development and execution the go-to-market strategy, including budget allocation and media buys (traditional, digital) for all markets
- Manage overall marketing budget in line with e-commerce P&L
- Partner closely with national marketing group and other stakeholders to create omnichannel marketing experience and increase banner cross-shop rate
Brand and creative
- Create and maintain the brand expression and standards, ensuring consistent application across all touchpoints. Manage brand evolution to support regional variations while maintaining a national brand platform.
- Lead creation of assets for seasonal campaigns, test and learn, editorial and promotional content – all consistent with brand strategy and brand book
Customer acquisition and retention
- Leverage data and insights to develop customer acquisition and retention strategies that meet e-commerce traffic and sales targets
- Create an aggressive test and learn cadence to optimize campaigns and drive growth
- Forecast and track campaign effectiveness and refine as needed
- Take ownership of the 52-week marketing calendar, lead the development of innovative communication and promotional programs to keep customers engaged and meet business growth objectives.
Site and app content
- Own how product catalog shows up on site to customers – product images, description, categorization/navigation, search, nutritional content. Partners with merchandising, GS1, and suppliers to secure images and ensure data quality and integrity in customer facing content.
- Leverage Ocado Smart Platform and Google Optimize to optimize site and app content (including placements, search, sales conversion, personalization, etc.) to support e-commerce sales, conversion, units per transaction, and dollars per transaction targets
- Work with merchandising on placements based on promotions strategy and ad planning process
Reporting and analytics
- Own measurement, reporting and analysis of customer behavior, KPIs and ROI to provide clear, actionable insights for marketing initiatives, merchandising priorities, and product optimization
- Forecast new and repeat customer growth, promo costs and performance.
- Track site and app effectiveness and refine as needed
- Continually improve approach based on learning and industry best practices
Job Requirements
- Fluency in French and English is preferred
- 10 years marketing expertise from within the industry or agency experience preferred
- Exposure to Grocery Industry/E-Commerce would be an asset
