Job description: Summary of DutiesWe have a position for a Full Time Hearing Aid Dispenser at the Hearing Aid Centre located at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre, Bayview campus. You will be responsible for fabricating, fitting and repairing custom hearing devices, programming digital hearing devices, operating and interpreting results of audiology equipment and software, ordering hearing devices from manufacturers, completing patient charting and billing, and providing hearing aid service to our residents in Long Term Care. Other Duties as necessary.Qualifications/Skills
- H.I.S. Certification and Registered with AHIP;
- Completed the H.I.S. Internship Program and International Licensing Exam
- Minimum 2 years clinical experience as a H.I.S ,preferred;
- Cerumen Management Certification preferred;
- Excellent organizational, interpersonal and communication skills essential;
- Reliable and dependable work ethic;
- Ability to contribute and excel in a team environment;
- Responsible to work independently and keep up with patient caseload;
- Willing to contribute to the Sunnybrook culture of patient-centered care;
- Able to foster long-term patient relationships;
- Perform instrument maintenance, calibration, and repairs in accordance with established procedures and protocols;
- Troubleshoot and diagnose instrument malfunctions and implement appropriate corrective actions;
- Conduct routine inspections to ensure instruments are functioning properly and meet quality standards;
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to coordinate instrument-related activities and ensure timely delivery of results;
- Maintain accurate records of instrument maintenance, repairs, and inspections;
- Ability to schedule appointments, invoice sales, submit for third party funding;
- Stay updated on the latest advancements in instrument technology and participate in continuing education programs as required;
- Other duties as required.
