This paid internship is a contract position that runs from April 1 – August 30, 2024 (dates are flexible). This role can be done remotely from anywhere in Canada.

However, for those who are students, Giant Tiger is committed to supporting the necessary documentation requirements from educational institutions. Bilingual HR Intern- Compensation; Role Accountabilities

Conduct data audits and analyses to ensure data integrity within Workday (HR Information System)

Pull and review data reports regularly from Workday to verify there are no compensation errors

Ensure that employees are in the correct pay plans, bonus plans, and compensation guidelines

Monitor employees’ compensation to ensure they are following the provincial guidelines

Make corrections and coordinate with HR and managers as required

Assist with communicating compensation framework changes

Communicate in French and English over the phone and via email with various levels of leadership to review employee impact

Prepare employee impact files

Other tasks as assigned

Produce reports and data files for the recognition programs

Run monthly reports, include all employees celebrating service anniversaries and retirements each month for stores, distribution centers and corporate

Notify and follow-up with employees who have an outstanding gift redemption code

Support as necessary with the recognition program transition

Bilingual HR Intern- Compensation; Key Qualifications

Graduate or currently enrolled in a Human Resources, Finance, or General Bachelor of Commerce/Business Administration program

Interest and/or experience in human resources, ideally compensation

Beginner/Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills

Curiosity and willingness to learn about HR programs and processes

Excellent time-management and organizational skills

Flexible and adaptable; detail oriented

Strong communication skills to interact with all levels of the organization

Ability to prioritize and multi-task within time constraints

Ability to exercise tact and discretion at all times

Bilingualism (English & French) is a requirement.
