If you have the qualities and drive to lead yourself or teams, there are roles ready to cultivate your skills and take you to the next level.Job Description:Overview: The Tax Specialist will assist the Canada Tax team by supporting the preparation and filing of tax returns, managing tax documentation, and ensuring compliance with Canadian tax regulations. This role offers an excellent growth opportunity for a tax professional who is committed to building expertise in Canadian tax law while contributing to the organization’s overall compliance efforts.Work Location: 1930 Derry Road East, Mississauga, ON (NOT REMOTE)Shift/Hours: Monday- Friday 9AM-5-PM ESTKey Accountabilities:Prepare and assist in filing federal, provincial, and local tax returns, including income tax, GST, HST, PST, and withholding taxes.Support the Tax Supervisor in maintaining compliance with all tax regulations, managing documentation, and meeting deadlines.Conduct research and assist in drafting memoranda on current and future tax issues affecting the company.Assist in gathering and organizing data for tax audits, including maintaining correspondence with tax authorities.Collaborate with finance, accounting, and other internal departments on tax matters as needed.Contribute to indirect tax processes, including sales and payroll tax, to ensure compliance and accuracy.Stay updated on changes in Canadian tax law and regulations, providing input to the team on potential impacts.Essential Skills and Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field; pursuing a CPA or similar certification is a plus.2+ years of experience in Canadian tax, ideally within a corporate or public accounting environment.Working knowledge of Canadian tax compliance, including GST/HST, corporate income tax, and withholding tax.Strong analytical and organizational skills with attention to detail.Effective communication skills, with an ability to work cross-functionally and explain tax concepts clearly.Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with ERP systems such as Oracle is beneficial.Bilingual (English & French) is a plus.UPS is a diverse and equal opportunity employer.
