We work closely with the world’s largest Point of Sales(POS) providers in order to streamline the food ordering experience for both the customer, and the restaurant.We leverage an event-driven, microservice based architecture consisting of many individual services that handle anything from receiving order data, transforming and sending the orders to POS systems, handling inventory, to services that receive large menu payloads from individual partners which are then transformed into the menus you see live on Skip today.Location: Canada, RemoteReporting to: Technology ManagerThese are some of the key ingredients to the role:The Go Engineer role plays a critical part in connecting Restaurants & Retailers with the Just Eat Takeaway platform. We are looking for engineers to take our global integration platform to the next level whilst maintaining core functionality on which thousands of our partners, and millions of orders depend on. As part of this varied role, we’re also counting on you to:Build new features in our core language, GolangMake key architectural decisions and help move the platform forwardSupport product and delivery teams during a time of immense growthWhat will you bring to the table?Proficiency in writing and designing high availability microservices in Go.Microservice / Event Driven Design – An understanding of the complexities with event driven design and how to best approach them, ie eventual consistency, transactions within a distributed systemA great communicator – We’re looking for someone who is comfortable explaining the technical to the non-technical, and “working out loud”Comfortable working on your feet – The POS integration space is all about dynamic collaboration, often requiring nimble changes of direction to support our myriad of partners.SRE – Strong focus on maintaining and improving production servicesPrevious experience working in an international company is a plusAt JET, this is on the menu:Our teams forge connections internally and work with some of the best-known brands on the planet, giving us truly international impact in a dynamic environment.Fun, fast-paced and supportive, the JET culture is about movement, growth and about celebrating every aspect of our JETers.
