This firm has an excellent culture and a lot of career development opportunities.– National and international law firm with expertise in a range of legal practices.– Named as one of the top 10 Insurance Boutiques in Canada by Canadian Lawyer Magazine.– Office conveniently located in Toronto’s Financial District!Duties and Responsibilities:– Provide administrative support to lawyers;– Organize and maintain large complex litigation files;– Scheduling examinations for discover, mediations and court appointments;– Prepare, compile, file and serve legal documents in accordance with the Rules of Civil Procedure, court forms and practice directions;– Transcribe, proofread, and edit documents, contracts, and correspondence;– Open/close/maintain legal files;– Communicate professionally with clients and court representatives;– Prepare cheque requisitions, trust deposits and expense reports;– Coordinate business travel accommodations; and– Other duties as needed.Requirements:– Legal Assistant Certificate or Law Clerk diploma from an accredited institution;– 4+ years’ experience in a in general and/or commercial litigation;– Experience in class action litigation will be considered an asset;– Strong working knowledge of legal software and electronic Document Management Systems;– Knowledge of Rules of Civil Procedure and Case Center;– Excellent skills with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel), Adobe and PC Law; and– Excellent communication, interpersonal and time management skills.
