Job description: Media Education Specialist – Contract – 17922About the OpportunityOur client, a local not-for-profit with national reach, is seeking a Media Education Specialist to support their educational initiatives. This role involves developing and delivering educational programs, resources, and training to help educators, youth, and communities. The role offers flexible working hours and arrangements with the option to work from home or in the office as desired.Duties include but are not limited to:

• Reviewing and updating existing educational resources, including lesson plans, tip sheets, and website content
• Researching, writing, and developing new educational materials such as articles, blogs, and lesson plans
• Managing the implementation of online courses, including coordinating enrollment, discussion boards, and program evaluations
• Reviewing and testing educational resources
• Maintaining curriculum alignment with provincial and territorial education standards
• Coordinating and delivering training programs

About YouThe successful candidate will have the following:

• Excellent spoken and written communication skills in English (French considered a strong asset)
• Background in media literacy, education, communications, library studies, or related fields
• Experience in curriculum development and resource creation
• Strong research and presentation skills
• Knowledge of eLearning management systems
• Ability to work independently in a remote or hybrid environment
• Previous experience in the non-profit or education sector is an asset

About the JobThe role is offering a 6 month term and $25.00 to $28.00 per hour, dependent on experience.
