Candidates must be enrolled in an undergraduate program, preferably in a STEM field, and plan to return to school after the internship.This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in validation of credit risk rating models, data analysis, and financial research. Interns will assist in developing the credit team’s quant infrastructure and will work closely with all team members, gaining exposure to all facets of the business.Responsibilities:

  • Assist in enhancement and validation of our proprietary Corporate Rating Assessment Tool.
  • Collaborate with Director of credit research to perform stress testing of rating tool
  • Analyzing, reporting and communicating findings from back testing models.
  • Support the team in ad-hoc quantitative research projects.

Requirements:

  • Strong background in statistics: Knowledge of hypothesis testing, regression analysis, and time series analysis. Data handling skills such as experience data cleaning, preprocessing, and transformation.
  • Back testing skills: Experience with back testing frameworks and tools
  • Analytical and Problem Solving skills: Self-starter with strong problem solving skills and the ability to think outside of the box
  • Communication Skills: Team player who demonstrates strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Educational Background: Currently pursuing a degree in Mathematics, Engineering, Statistics or a related field
  • Demonstrates strong attention to detail with an ability to produce quality work with a high degree of accuracy

Other plus points:

  • Programming Skills: Broad programming experience, with a working knowledge of Python and popular statistics libraries like scikit-learn and tensorflow
  • Previous experience in credit risk or financial modeling is a plus
