The opportunity

The Senior Manager, Creative Production will oversee and prioritize the development and production of Creative assets that represent the Ontario Teachers’ brand internally and externally. This includes planning, conceptualizing and delivering graphics (infographics, iconography, posters, presentations and other visuals) and video content in best-in-class formats for use across a variety of internal and external channels. You will oversee a team of graphic designers and copywriter who support creative production across the organization.

This role is the keeper of OTPP brand standards including brand and visual identity guidelines.

Who you’ll work with

You will be part of the Marketing & Communications team within Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan and report to the Director of Marketing and Business Planning.

What you’ll do

Direct and lead the creative development process end to end, ensuring that all creative work aligns with established brand guidelines, tone of voice and other documented resources

Plan and prioritize team projects to support capacity management and seamless delivery

Provide advice to internal partners and ensure all brand standards are followed

Establish and maintain diversified external agency partnerships to support best in class, nimble content production

Lead video production including concept development, scriptwriting, shooting and editing to create impactful video content, in partnership with Marketing & Communications colleagues

Oversee production partner relationships to deliver projects on time and on budget

Serve as the Creative lead on all projects and inspire the inhouse team of creative professionals

Ensure a clear and efficient project intake process and proactively manage team capacity to deliver to priorities

Work collaboratively with various internal teams and clients to understand their needs and provide creative solutions to meet objectives

Source and collaborate with freelance staff as needed to augment internal team

Collaborate with Marketing & Comms colleagues to tailor Creative outputs to meet targeted performance metrics and best format for respective channels

Support all on premise branding related to OTPP global offices

Supervise and mentor an in-house creative team, including a Manager of Graphic Design, Motion Graphic Designer and copywriter

Allocate resources effectively, prioritize workloads and manage project budgets

Management, project prioritization and resource allocation of internal creative team

Evaluate proposals considering costs, past performance and make appropriate external vendor selections to align to project requirements

Facilitate collaborative discussions across team to drive creative decisions based on project objectives

Allocation of annual creative budget, decisions regarding budget spend and management of budget

What you’ll need

Minimum of 10 years’ experience working in across creative production and creative management roles

A bachelor’s degree or equivalent certification in Marketing, Communications, Graphic Design

Comfortable establishing and executing Creative to different “tiers” – both large scale production and more turnkey and nimble deliverables

Have a strong network of freelance talent

Expertise in Creative content development in a corporate setting, ideally Financial Services

Stellar written and verbal communications skills

Strong project management and team management skills

Deep experience aligning Creative to business objectives

Experience with social media and paid advertising
