Reporting to the Editor-in-Chief, you’ll weigh in regularly on the biggest financial topics of the day, producing a combination of fact-based journalism and thought-provoking opinion that enlightens and entertains.What you’ll do:Write a regular column that helps our readers understand the most pressing financial and economic issues of the day, especially those that affect their pocketbooksProvide reporting support when breaking news requiresProvide guidance and support to other reporters in the newsroom, as neededWho you are:You have 10+ years of reporting and/or opinion writing experience in a daily newsroom, preferably in business journalismYou have a demonstrated ability to write engaging commentaryYou are familiar with the business, economics and personal finance topics that are most important to CanadiansYou have a knack for generating thought-provoking angles that go beyond the headlines of the day and journalistic clichésYou have a strong writing voice and a deep desire to help readers understand not just what happened, but why it’s important and what they should think about itYou are used to a daily newsroom environment and the need to react quickly and hit tight deadlinesIf you are interested in this position, please apply with a cover letter, resumé and links to recent work.
