Job description: The OpportunityExciting opportunity for a Principal to join our Global Investment Strategy team in Toronto! The Principal, Global Investment Strategy (GIS) plays a key role on the strategy team for Ontario Teachers’ – an enterprise which, at its core, is a business investing capital for its members. The role entails helping the organization make strategic choices through enhancing our awareness of our competitive and business environments, formulating, activating and enabling strategy and building strategic relationships. It is a critical role on a small, dynamic team which is helping a leading investment organization navigate a complex environment undergoing significant disruption.Who You’ll Work WithReporting to the Senior Managing Director, Global Investment Strategy, you will work closely with your GIS colleagues based in Toronto and our global offices. The GIS team is within the Strategy & Stakeholder Relations division alongside Sustainable Investing, Government and Public Affairs and Marketing & Communications.You will have the outstanding opportunity to work collaboratively with colleagues across all asset classes, regions and corporate functions globally. An important component of the GIS mandate is to collaborate with colleagues across divisions and departments in order to ensure we have the relevant capabilities, operating model, and processes in place to advance our global strategy.What You’ll DoHelp increase the Fund’s global awareness and ability to adapt to a rapidly changing business environment, assuring the organization continues to both anticipate and respond to shifting sets of opportunities and risks.Work to activate the Fund’s enterprise strategy, leading Fund-wide strategic and transformational initiatives. This will also entail working with senior leadership to align the entire enterprise around our common business objectives.Identify linkages and drive connectivity between the strategy, our investment plan, support for our members, operational plans, and the overall integrated plan for the Fund in order to support decision-making and enable the achievement of organizational objectives.Activate the annual strategic planning process including ongoing monitoring and reporting on progress against the strategy.Work in a dynamic and sometimes ambiguous environment to achieve strategic outcomes.Build and deepen external relationships in areas of strategic import for the Fund. Opportunity Overview:
