Job description: We’re working with a high-growth startup that’s redefining free-to-play gaming and digital entertainment across North America. Their main product delivers engaging, real-time experiences to thousands of users daily through mobile and web-combining interactive gameplay with fresh content and a strong sense of community.With recent partnerships and a solid growth trajectory, the team is expanding and looking for a Backend Engineer to help drive innovation, performance, and security as the platform evolves.About the Team:You’ll join a collaborative, distributed engineering team working across DevOps, frontend, mobile, and product. The backend is built with Node.js, TypeScript, and AWS, with a strong focus on scalability, security and real-time performance.What You’ll Do:– Design, build, and maintain backend services (60%+ backend focus) using Node.js and TypeScript
– Develop scalable APIs and backend systems for high-volume, interactive applications
– Partner with frontend, mobile, and product teams to deliver user-facing features
– Improve performance, reliability, and infrastructure as usage grows
– Contribute to architectural decisions and help shape the future of the platformWhat We’re Looking For:– 4+ years of backend development experience, ideally in a startup or high-growth environment
– Strong skills with Node.js, TypeScript, and AWS
– Solid grasp of microservices, cloud infrastructure, and scalable backend patterns
– Startup mindset-adaptable, autonomous, and excited to build in a fast-paced environmentNice to Have:– Experience with real-time systems, games, or streaming platforms
– Familiarity with Docker, serverless architecture, or Kubernetes
