The impact dynamics intern will be responsible for progressing and implementing current research projects in collaboration with other team members. She/he assumes responsibility for several components of a project. He contributes to the team or department by applying knowledge of several functional areas. The goal is to implement improved impact dynamics analytical methods based on current research to support cutting edge aerospace engine development.If you have a passion for aerospace or mechanical engineering and physics-based analysis, we invite you to apply.What your day to day will look like:Review past and current research relevant to aerospace impact dynamicsReview past fan blade off, bird ingestion, and bench test dataPropose and plan additional testing to support improved analysis methodsImplement research-based improvements in fan blade off and bird ingestion modelsDocument improved methods including simulation setup and correlation to testWhat you need to be successful:Must haves:

  • Be eligible to work in Canada
  • Be enrolled in a Canadian university throughout your internship
  • Be able to work on-site in the province where you are hired if applicable
  • Pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or Engineering Science
  • Excellent communication skills in English (spoken/written).

Assets:Ability to take initiative and work both independently and collaborativelyCoursework in solid mechanics, dynamics, finite element methodExperience with finite element analysis and associated software (ex.
