General Job Description:
- This role is a combination of Technical & Business & requires a versatile & dynamic self-starter that is looking to grow their career inside of Secure Power
- The successful candidate will understand the technical and commercial intricacies of Power Continuity (ie. UPS) & Cooling (CRACS, CRAHs & in-row cooling) solutions as well as have a strong working knowledge of the other data centre components, including Racks, PDUs & DCIM.
- Strong Technical skills focused on both Electrical (ie. UPS) & Mechanical (ie. Cooling) Products
- Strong understanding of Finance (building business cases & forecasts) along with experience with Market Research (ie. Market Sizing) & how to influence Global Product Roadmaps (in support of Canada’s business requirements) &
- Candidate will be involved in direct interaction with all Product Mgt. lines of business (LOB) across Schneider Electric IT Corp (or more commonly referred to as Secure Power) to input & influence Global Roadmaps to the betterment of Canada
- Candidate will also have day to day interaction with the Secure Power (SP) Canada Sales teams, Mfg. Representative’s (also known as ASPs) to field Issues & Offer Development opportunities
Essential Functions
Candidate will be responsible for the following day to day responsibilities:
- Offer Enablement & Education, re: Product launches into Canada
- Interacting with LoBs across Secure Power (ie. Power, Cooling, Racks, Transactional, SW) & ensuring that Canadian Sales team is aware of all Product Enhancements & how they will benefit our clients
- Maintain the Product Launch Calendar (Canada) with clear understanding of North America (NAM) & Canadian release dates (ie. RTQ & RTS)
- Working to ensure that Canadian specific certification (ie. CUL, CETL) & French Language requirements are adhered to across all LOB Portfolios
- Creation & Management of a Canadian specific Training Calendar in support of our Direct Sales team (1PH & 3PH) in addition to our Mfg. Representatives (ASPs) & other Partner Agents
- Working collaboratively with the Secure Power team’s Globally in support of building & delivering the required training material
- Offer Development Coordinator
- Understanding & representing Canada’s business requirements into the different Product Mgt. Lines of Business (LOBs)
- Interacting with the various LOBs (ie. Power, Cooling, Racks, Pre-Fab, PDUs & SW) for the purpose of inputting Canada’s roadmap asks
- Input into & Influence LOB Product Launches & Product Evolution Roadmap with a goal to input & Influence Roadmaps to the betterment of Canada
- Providing forecasts (as required) to the LOB in support of the Canadian Roadmap requests
- Creation & on-going maintenance of:
- Canadian Issues Log
- Offer Priority Listing (& what LOB’s position is in support of Canada’s asks)
- Market Research & on-going updating of the Canadian Product Addressable Market (PAM) sizing for the Canadian Secure Product Family of Products
- Interact with NAM & Global Market Research Teams
- Owner of the Annual Market & Sales Marketing (AMSP) Plan on behalf of Secure Power Canada
- Interactions with the Engineered to Order (ETO) team (from an Offering Development Perspective) for the purpose of pre-building custom SKUs (ie. QSKUs) in support of our Sales Team’s take to market initiatives along with leveraging data to build Product Roadmap priorities
- Managing inputs into a Partner Spend. Portal (ie. posting of invoices)
What qualifications will make you successful?
- 3 to 5 years corporate experience
- Technical degree (preferably in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering) with 3 to 5 years in a technical product management or Offering Management position
- Strong Business background (Economics or Marketing minor), Business Degree or equivalent on the job or educational background highlighting strong business acumen
- Ability to build Revenue Forecasts (in support of Product Roadmap requirements)
- Strong Technical skills focused on both Electrical (ie. UPS) & Mechanical (ie. Cooling) Products
- Ability to comprehend architectural, structural, mechanical & electric drawings and documentation
- Experience reading & interpreting Single Line Diagrams
- Previous experience working for a Global organization, managing requests upwards in a Multi-National / Global organization & escalating as required
- Excellent verbal, written communication, and presentation skills required
- Ability to represent team, (re: technical issues), to the LOB in support of issues / roadmap requests
- Experience in mission critical DC solution designs with a good understanding of Schneider / APC Products
- Familiarity with high availability facilities, Mechanical and Electrical Distribution design, and operations
- Familiarity with data centre design best practices
- Strong Powerpoint, excel, Word skills with ability to create well thought through Executive Summaries
- Continuously develop and expand technical and interpersonal skills
- Target driven and total focus on achieving targets and helping grow business (chase results v. wait for results)
- Valid Driver’s License
- Able to work in Canada with no restrictions
- Ability to travel to US or Global (as required) with no restrictions
- Flexible and able to work with a Global Teams and varying time zones (able to modify workday as required to accommodate global calls – albeit infrequently)
