Production Support Engineer

Our client, a global financial services firm, is seeking a Production Support Engineer to join their team. The Production Support Engineer will be responsible for ensuring the stability and reliability of the trading platform and working closely with development and infrastructure teams to troubleshoot issues and improve processes. The ideal candidate will have strong technical skills, experience with Linux/Unix systems, scripting (Python, Shell, Perl), and knowledge of database technologies (SQL, Sybase).

Responsibilities:
– Monitor and support the trading system to ensure maximum availability and performance
– Investigate and resolve production issues in a timely manner
– Collaborate with development and infrastructure teams to implement solutions and prevent future issues
– Implement and maintain monitoring tools
– Participate in on-call rotation and provide support during off-hour maintenance activities

Qualifications:
– Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field
– 3+ years of experience in a production support role within a financial services environment
– Strong technical skills, including experience with Linux/Unix, scripting, and database technologies
– Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities
– Strong communication and teamwork skills
– Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
– Experience with monitoring and ticketing tools is a plus
