Job description: Job SummaryJob DescriptionWhat is the Opportunity?The Advanced Data Insights & Integration (ADII) Team of RBC Personal Banking is seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Manager, Backend Engineering to lead the development of data focused GenAI Service in support of our Marketing, Personalization, and Client Data Management Teams. In this role, you will drive the design and implementation of innovative data solutions using modern agentic frameworks and MCP servers, ensuring seamless connectivity between GenAI models and our core backend infrastructure. The goal of these initiatives will be to transform key workflows to create value and to improve productivity. You will be responsible for delivering and maintaining high quality solutions in alignment to RBC policies.As a leader in this space, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of AI-driven data solutions, enabling advanced analytics, automation, and decision-making across the organization.What will you do?Lead the design, development, and implementation of GenAI-driven data integration pipelines and backend systems.Build and optimize MCP tools to standardize the deployment and management of GenAI solutions.Develop and maintain data services on AWS, leveraging services like S3, Lambda, Redshift, Redis, and SageMaker.Engineer scalable backend solutions using Node.js and Python, ensuring high performance, reliability, and security.Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Data Science, Engineering, Product, and Business) to identify and prioritize use cases for GenAI integration.Oversee the integration of GenAI models with existing data environments, APIs, and microservices.Ensure data quality, consistency, and compliance with data governance and privacy standards.Stay up to date of emerging trends in Generative AI Development and recommend new technologies and methodologies.Work closely with stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions, delivering measurable impact.What do you need to succeed?Must-haveBachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, or a related field.6+ years of experience in backend development, data engineering, or software engineering.2+ years of experience in GenAI, machine learning, or AI-driven systems development.Proven experience building MCP servers, data services, and working with Agentic AIStrong programming skills in Node.js and Python, with expertise in relevant libraries and frameworks.Experience working with big data technologies (e.g., Apache Spark, Hadoop, Kafka) and real-time data activation solutions.Proficiency in cloud platforms (AWS) and containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).Knowledge of database systems (SQL, NoSQL) and data warehousing solutions (e.g., Snowflake, Redshift).Excellent leadership and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.Nice-to-haveExperience with MLOps practices and tools for deploying and managing AI models.Knowledge of data governance, privacy, and compliance standards (e.g., GDPR, CCPA).Experience with Digital Analytics & Behavioural Analytics (Eg.
