Job description: What is the opportunity?

In this role, you will support the management of RBC’s public website focusing on high profile strategic brand initiatives & programs. You will also take a leadership role in further developing and executing RBC’s enterprise content marketing strategy and acting as the centre of excellence for the broader team using content marketing as part of their line of business strategies.

This role is highly cross functional which means will collaborate with a large number of internal stakeholders to help them develop & execute their strategies enhancing their initiatives with your expertise in UX, SEO, digital analytics, and digital technology that enables highly engaging experiences.

Finally, you will be a leader within our department to enable & upskill our team in leveraging content management systems.

This is fast paced complex work in a highly matrixed organization that requires an organized, strong communicator with both strong technical and marketing chops that can work through minor details while still keeping their eye on the big picture.

What will you do?

  • Execute the digital components to enable the vision for brand programs & initiatives
  • Build relationships with your stakeholders & partners to earn trust and establish yourself as a subject matter expert
  • Provide leadership & strategic recommendations on delivering great content, tools, and capabilities to enhance the client experience
  • Support or lead a variety of content marketing programs, being a subject matter expert on the technology that enables them, SEO, & analytics
  • Act as the product owner for content management systems for our team by planning the strategy, expansion of capabilities, and training of all users
  • Track efforts and optimize for visitors by leveraging Google Analytics and Google Optimize
  • Present recommended solutions and data analysis to Product & Marketing partners and executives
  • Take a leadership role in growing & developing other team members by taking on people management responsibilities

What do you need to succeed?

  • Must-have
  • Bachelors degree or College diploma in Business/Marketing/Technology
  • Digital-first mindset and work ethic
  • 7+ years of digital marketing experience
  • 3+ years experience leading digital sites
  • Exceptional client, project and vendor management skills
  • Strong collaboration, presentation, written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience with content, usability and information architecture, accessibility, privacy
  • Knowledge of Google Analytics and SEO
  • Technical skills, including:
  • Google Analytics, Google Data Studio, Google Optimize
  • Working in Content Management Systems (ie. WordPress)
  • FTP
  • Dev/staging/prod environments

Nice-to-have

  • Experience in the financial services industry
  • Ecommerce marketing or digital product ownership experience
  • Agency experience
  • Experience with and working knowledge of HTML/CSS/JavaScript
  • Experience working with a wide variety of digital marketing Saas tools/products
  • Previous people leadership experience
