– 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
– Experience programming with at least one software programming language
– Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent
– Computer Science fundamentals in object-oriented design
– Computer Science fundamentals in data structures
– Computer Science fundamentals in algorithm design, problem solving, and complexity analysisPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS– 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
– Proficiency in, at least, one modern programming language such as C, C++, Java, or Perl

Description:
The City of Markham is seeking a Senior Library Assistant to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing direct customer service, collection maintenance, data entry, and general administrative support in a public library setting.
Key Responsibilities:
– Provide excellent customer service to library users, including responding to inquiries and assisting with library materials
– Process new library materials, including cataloging and classification
– Maintain library collections, including shelving, shelf-reading, and weeding
– Assist with library programs and events, including setup and takedown
– Perform data entry and record-keeping tasks as required
