This position will report to the Geomatics Team Lead.Your Key ResponsibilitiesMentoring of junior field staff to ensure industry best practices are observed in the field and officeAdhere to and promote adherence to Stantec safety policiesPerform field surveys in all weather conditionsPerform legal, topographic, engineering surveyingPerform legal field calculationUse GPS RTK and or total stations survey equipment and their respective data collection systems to perform topographical surveysWork in off road rugged terrain, urban and rural conditionsWork out of town in remote locations throughout OntarioResearch survey records and land titles to obtain information about property boundaries and areas to be surveyed and coordinates findings with the work of engineers, clients and others involved in projectsResponsible for safe operation and maintenance of vehicles, tools, and equipmentVerify the accuracy of field survey data, including measurements and calculations conducted at survey sitesPerform other duties of a similar nature and level as assignedQualificationsYour Capabilities and CredentialsExperienced with survey equipment including: level, RTK GPS and total stationExperience supervising and coordinating junior surveyorsExperience in equipment calibrationExperience with MTO and Northwestern Ontario coordinate systems is an assetThorough understanding of Quality Assurance processes and documentationAbility to read and understand drawings, contracts and specificationsValid drivers license and personal vehicleEducation and ExperienceGraduate of a university degree or college diploma in Geomatics, Engineering Technology, or a related disciplineExperience managing a field crew of 1-3 individualsMinimum of 15 years experience as a SurveyorThis description is not a comprehensive listing of activities, duties, or responsibilities that may be required of the employee and other duties, responsibilities, and activities may be assigned or may be changed at any time with or without notice.Stantec is a place where the best and brightest come to build on each other’s talents, do exciting work, and make an impact on the world around us.
