We work together to make the ROSE a great place to work, learn and grow.Your opportunity:Reporting to the Director, Recruitment and Admissions, the Student Recruitment Communications Specialist is responsible for a range of recruitment, marketing, publications, website and communications tasks. The incumbent has an essential role in ensuring that the core recruitment and student communication and information services of the OISE Registrar’s Office and Student Experience (ROSE) are effective, efficient and meet the needs of OISE and its future and current students. The role encompasses the following tasks: creating, updating and operationalizing content and design of OISE’s digital and print recruitment publications; creating and operationalizing recruitment drip campaigns through Slate CRM; creating and distributing digital current student newslettersfor the ROSE; planning and executing in-house and digital recruitment events and webinars including relevant pre and post-event communications; and updating recruitment, future student and ROSE websites. Social media recruitment and other digital marketing campaigns are vital to a strong recruitment campaign and the incumbent needs to be well versed in leveraging these tools. The incumbent in the role will thrive if they are a strong communicator, have experience in post-secondary (ideally graduate) recruitment campaigns, write well and are able to utilize a range of applications and systems which span the scope of this position.The incumbent takes a primary role in developing and maintaining recruitment and student communication resources viawebsite, email and social, digital and print media and delivers effective digital and print resources in order to support recruitment and admissions, registration, student retention and student experience functions. This role has primary responsibility for effective operation of the communications elements associated with the Slate CRM system. Areas of responsibilities include: develop, maintain and optimize ROSE pages on the OISE website and key future student and recruitment areas of OISE’s website, support OISE’s recruitment plan, create and operationalize inquiry, prospect and applicant communications plan including drip campaigns, prepare recruitment print and digital publications (viewbook and related materials), ensure efficient email and social media future and current student communications (including incoming student materials and newsletter for current students), coordinate in-house recruitment events and assist in student events.The incumbent also oversees OISE Student Ambassadors including hiring, training, scheduling, and directing student workers who support work that complements OISE’s recruitment and retention campaigns.Your responsibilities will include:

  • Advising on communication strategies to support goals and priorities
  • Conceptualizing, organizing and executing event activities and implementing plans across a broad range of marketing/communication channels
  • Planning and implementing a content editing approach for digital and print publications. Creating and updating ROSE, Future Student and Current Student webpages and digital publications including our annual viewbook
  • Fostering and maintaining networks to build capacity and collaboration
  • Planning and implementing components of digital and print media communications projects
  • Creating and coordinating the production and distribution of print and digital communication materials
  • Implementing plans across a broad range of marketing/communication channels
  • Planning and implementing events and recruitment communications projects using the CRM functionality of Slate platform.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Communications or acceptable combination of equivalent experience.
  • Minimum four years of recent, relevant experience that includes both digital and print communications.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite. Experience developing design and layout of print and digital communications.
  • Experience with Client Relationship Management (CRM) database.
  • Experience with social media technologies, including content management and web platforms such as WordPress and Drupal), image editing, RSVP management tools and survey creation tools.
  • Demonstrated experience developing relationships and interacting effectively with diverse prospect and applicant populations.
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills.
  • Ability to work in collegial manner with applicants, students, office colleagues, staff and faculty.
  • Strong customer service orientation.
  • Initiative and creativity required, along with strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Solid analytical and investigative skills are critical.

Assets (Nonessential):

  • Broad knowledge of OISE programs, procedures and regulations is an asset.
  • Working knowledge of Slate CRM.
