We are seeking an experienced Sales leader to support our team of Managers and Financial Services Consultants (FSCs) in providing our clients with Wealth solutions and advice. The right candidate is a results-oriented, proven leader with a passion for supporting clients in a call-centre environment. They understand a strong client experience and a personalized, needs-based sales process is the way to meet and exceed sales targets. The incumbent will lead through influence and excel at partnership and collaboration. They will create a team environment that motivates and inspires teams to deliver strong, consistent results.
In this position you will play a critical role supporting the Client Solutions Centre (CSC) in delivering on our Client Experience Vision and driving significant growth in our client outcomes. The role includes both direct management of client-facing teams as well as coordination with partner teams in GRS and the CXO to provide solutions through our digital channels. You will support continuous improvement initiatives and test and learn pilots to deliver on the CSC’s strategy and ambitious sales targets of $3B in wealth solutions and $26M in Insurance solutions. You will also coordinate with other departments to serve our clients, including other teams in the CSC as well as our Advisor and Service channels. Reporting to the AVP, CSC Sales & Sales Strategies, this role will join our Sales and Sales Strategies Leadership team and the broader cross-functional team providing support to our GRS and Choices clients.
What will you do?
Lead a team of managers and their respective teams to achieve sales and retention objectives
Communicate a clear vision for the management team and empower them to activate tactics to achieve it
Inspire your broader team with a deep understanding of their roles, our clients, and our business, and strong judgment on where to invest time and resources
Maintain a strong focus on development and culture to attract, develop and retain a high-performing, engaged, and diverse team
Leverage data to regularly monitor the business, identify opportunities, and take action (including initiation of more complex analysis and modelling through Finance and Analytics partners where required)
Effectively manage staffing levels, workloads and succession planning to ensure stability for the team and deliver responsible expense management
Navigate support with adjacent teams to administer training, coaching, compensation, and rewards & recognition programs that effectively prepare and motivate FSCs to deliver strong outcomes for our clients
Monitor and evolve omni-channel campaign tactics to optimize client and business outcomes
Partner with other leaders in GRS and the CXO to deliver a consistent, high quality experience across our channels, including shared insights on client pain points and areas of interest
In partnership with our Legal, Compliance, and Enablement colleagues, maintain a strong awareness and understanding of the legislative and regulatory requirements as they pertain to our business and ensure compliance through processes, scripting, training, systems, and support tools
Drive for continuous improvement in an effort to optimize sales and client loyalty, increase FSC productivity and effectiveness, and enhance the client experience
Support the CSC’s strategic direction as a member of the CSC’s Management team
Demonstrate a deep understanding of the interdependencies of our teams to serve our clients, approaching all problems from the client’s perspective and leveraging Sun Life’s broad offering to meet their needs
Actively contribute to strategy sessions, Director team meetings, and Sales Leadership huddles to shape our strategic vision and deliver on annual objectives
Work with AVP, CSC Sales & Sales Strategies to set objectives and implement key strategic initiatives across the broader Sales team of 140+ people
Support goals of the broader CSC/GRS team, driving outcomes for your Sales Director peers and supporting key initiatives from Strategy, Enablement, and other partner teams
What do you need to succeed?
Experience leading a goal-oriented sales team focused on delighting clients through exceptional interactions
Experience creating a motivating, engaged, and inclusive team culture in a remote/hybrid setting
Excellent analytical, communication and presentation skills to effectively assess and communicate the health of the business and identify opportunities
Strong commitment to development, with experience managing other leaders to their full potential
Deep understanding of blended outbound and inbound sales strategies
Ability to collaborate effectively across teams and make tough prioritization decisions to optimize results
Strong judgement and business acumen, with the ability influence others to gain alignment and drive outcomes
A strong understanding of the financial services marketplace, particularly Wealth products and services
5+ years of experience in a telephone sales environment (wealth and/or insurance industry preferred)
5+ years of experience in leading and developing client facing teams
As this position is posted in several locations, we specify that bilingualism (French, English, both oral and written) is required for Quebec only for the frequent interactions with English and French-speaking colleagues or internal partners across Canada or worldwide.

Unique Requirements:
This role has a flexible work arrangement, but office presence would be expected at least weekly
The role is based out of our Montreal or Toronto office, with approximately 2-4 visits annually to the other site
