Role:
Owns design and delivery of the product sales training and education program for merchandising and sales.
Role Responsibilities:

  • Works with Category Managers to define the training and education requirements for the category.
  • Works with Vendors to deliver digital content including videos, PowerPoint Presentations (PPTs), Point of Sales Material (POS) and other training executable by the field or accessible directly to the Sales Consultant (SC).
  • Regularly reviews and updates training content for relevance.
  • Establishes a process for content revision and ensures field merchandising has access to the latest product information.
  • Addresses the diverse learning styles of the sales team.
  • Evaluates training effectiveness.
  • Prioritizes training needs and focusses on the most critical products and cuisines.
  • Stays up to date with training and education trends.
  • Addresses concerns on training process and relevance
  • Works directly with field merchandising and field sales to product training and education
  • Complies with Sysco’s Food Safety Policy and procedures to ensure food safety, quality and legality requirements are met.
  • Is willing to work safely with minimal environmental impact and understands the importance of reporting all hazards, incidents, and environmental spills immediately to their Supervisor.
  • Understands that they play an integral role in their own safety and that of their colleagues and is willing to speak out when hazards are present.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications/Skills/Job Requirements (About you):

  • Minimum 1 year of merchandising/category management or marketing experience.
  • Experience in retail or foodservice sales is an asset.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, or a related field is preferred.
  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook
  • Proven experience in product training, instructional design, or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of adult learning principles
  • Exceptional presentation and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in using training and e-learning software.
  • Project management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to adapt to changing product landscapes and technologies.
  • Strong leadership and team collaboration abilities.
  • Problem-solving skills and a results-oriented approach.
