Job description: Reporting to the Health and Safety Superintendent, you will be part of the Health and Safety department. As part of the Corporate RMMS Specialists Committee, and working closely with the Corporate Sustainability Systems Manager, you will act as representative of the site for the implementation, operation and optimization of the RMMS and external standards.   • Voluntary Principles on Security and Human Rights (VPSHR);

  • Organize workshops and meetings with the local RMMS team to review the implementation and operation status;
  • Prepare periodic reports on RMMS activities for the site;
  • Participate in the RMMS Specialists Committee meetings and workshops (4x/year);

Qualifications

  • Post secondary education with an Occupational Health & Safety or Risk Management certification;
  • 3+ years of relevant working experience in mining or similar industries;
  • Experience with risk management activities/management systems (ex.: ISO 14001, ICMC, TSM etc.);
  • Remote site and mining project experience are considered assets;
  • Auditing experience is considered an asset;
  • Excellent working knowledge of all Microsoft Office Suite applications especially Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint & SharePoint.

QUALIFICATIONSOur ideal candidate has:

  • Ontario provincial or inter-provincial (Red Seal) trade certificate is preferred;
  • 10 years’ experience in a maintenance capacity;
  • 2-5 years’ experience in a supervisory and/or lead hand role;
  • A general understanding of computers; Microsoft & Outlook
  • Sound interpersonal skills with the ability to lead and motivate a team of employees;
  • Experience with open pit mining equipment, with electrical shovels and drills being a strong asset;
