  • Fieldwork such as soil, groundwater, surface water and/or sediment sampling, as well as drilling, contractor and remediation oversight;
  • Environmental due diligence, regulatory compliance services, and permitting;
  • Environmental site assessment, risk assessment and risk management;
  • Understanding of the Ontario environmental regulatory framework;
  • Data analysis, including preparing maps, tables, borehole logs, and figures; and
  • Technical reports, letters, memoranda, plans, specifications, and proposals.
  • Training: This position requires Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) hazardous waste operations and emergency response, first aid, and CPR training paid by the firm. Medical monitoring is also provided.
  • Professional development: This position includes in-house seminars, webinars, and mentoring, that allow our professionals to build the technical and business skills necessary to become successful consultants.
  • Fieldwork: Up to 70%
  • Overnight travel: Up to 30%

Education and Licensure:

  • Bachelor’s degree in environmental, geological, civil, or chemical engineering, geology, or related science. (required)
  • Advanced degree in above. (preferred)

Skills, Experience and Qualifications:

  • At least 2 years (5+ preferred) of relevant experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. (required)
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret scientific data and technical publications, journals, procedures, government regulations, and project related reports. (required)
  • Ability to effectively present information in oral and written format and respond to questions from project managers, project team members, and clients. (required)
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence that are clear, well organized, and grammatically correct. (required)
  • Ability to apply methods, procedures, practices, and processes derived from academic training to solve technical problems related to environmental site assessment, risk assessment, and remediation. (required)
  • Proficiency in the use of Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. (required)
  • Prior internship experience in environmental consulting. (an asset)
  • Valid Canadian driver’s license and a satisfactory driving record for business travel (required)
  • Willingness and ability to work outside Ontario. (an asset)
