Job description: We are seeking a motivated, detail-oriented, and technically curious Junior Mechanical Engineer to support our growing team in the design and delivery of industrial refrigeration systems. This is a hands-on role ideal for someone in the early stages of their engineering career who is ready to apply their skills in real-world applications and grow within a supportive, experienced team.This is a full-time hybrid position open to qualified candidates living in Toronto. Please note— all applications are reviewed by HUMANS, but we utilize AI checking software to ensure your application reflects your authentic style.ResponsibilitiesProject Engineering & Design Support:Assist in designing industrial refrigeration systems under the guidance of the CEOHelp prepare engineering drawings, equipment layouts, and system documentationSupport the selection of components and materials based on project specsParticipate in load calculations and energy analysis with coaching from team leadsTeam Collaboration:Work closely with operations team to understand client needsParticipate in project meetings, site visits, and technical reviewsTranslate technical requirements into clear documentation and reportsLearning & Development:Stay up to date with relevant codes, safety standards, and engineering best practicesProject Management:Track engineering tasks, timelines, and deliverables using internal systemsSupport coordination between departments to keep projects moving forwardHelp maintain organized project documentation and status reportsFlag issues, delays, or risks to senior team members for resolutionWhat You’ll Need to Succeed:Technical Skills:Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related fieldStrong foundational knowledge of thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, and mechanical designFamiliarity with CAD software (AutoCAD, Revit, etc.)Comfortable working with technical drawings, calculations, and system specsProfessional Skills:Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindsetAbility to manage time and adapt to shifting project prioritiesDetail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy and quality workWillingness to grow within a team and take ownership of assigned tasksNice to Have:Co-op, internship, or field experience in mechanical or industrial settingsInterest in refrigeration, HVAC, or industrial process designBasic understanding of project management tools or workflowsHiring ProcessApplication/questionnaire5-minute video submission60-minute Technical interview (includes basic design and problem-solving)45-minute Final interview in-personCompensation$80-90K annual salary80 hours paid vacation annually (accrued)40 hours paid sick / mental health / personal time annually, prorated (after 90 days)Dental careExtended health careLife insuranceVision careOur ValuesFamilyWorkmanshipCustomer ServiceEnvironmental ResponsibilityAbout UsWe are a family-owned and long-standing leader in the industrial refrigeration sector across Ontario.
