Job description: Reporting to the Health and Safety Superintendent you will be part of the Health and Safety Department.   • Participate in the preparation of HS team and site health and safety performance monitoring and reporting requirements
  • Identify and analyze workplace hazards that can cause sickness, impaired health, or significant discomfort in workers; gather information and submit reports, interface with relevant departments
  • Analyze and utilize performance monitoring to drive continuous improvement initiatives
  • Be a key contact point and resource for health and safety related issues
  • Implement HS management systems and practices, taking into account quality, cost, safety, production and overall business needs
  • Support the HS management system software solution by working with others to implement, provide training and manage the administration of the system(s)
  • Support and engage in programs that develop organizational capabilities to identify, monitor and control hazards in the workplace
  • Perform audits to assess compliance with established programs and ensure adherence to safety regulations and protocols
  • Facilitate and assist the completion of incident and accident investigations and root cause analysis
  • Manage, deliver and administer side wide safety training programs
  • Promote a positive health, safety and environment culture and the Internal Responsibility System

Qualifications

  • Degree or Diploma in a Health and Safety related discipline
  • CRSP, CRST or Professional Health and Safety Designation is considered an asset
  • Minimum ten years’ experience in a health and safety role within the mining sector
  • Must have demonstrated leadership skills in influencing, conflict management, and people development
  • Thorough knowledge of the Ontario Occupational Health and Safety Act and construction & mining regulations
  • Ontario Mining Supervisor Common Core training
  • Experience with HSE management system software (Intelex, E-compliance, ICAM investigation methodology)
  • Experience with the implementation and monitoring of industrial hygiene programs
  • Experience working in a cross-cultural environment and remote work sites is considered an asset
  • Experience with Towards Sustainable Mining (TSM), the International Cyanide management Code and ISO 45001 are considered assets

Job description: Reporting to the Construction Superintendent you will be part of the Capital Projects Department. You will be responsible for planning, supervising, coordinating and executing construction activities for projects within the Capital Projects portfolio. You will ensure that the goals and objectives are achieved while promoting and respecting Agnico Eagle’s values, Health & Safety Code of Conduct and the environment.

  • Manage project contractors by monitoring and controlling performance;
  • Meet operational standards by contributing construction information to strategic plans and constructability reviews; implementing production, productivity, quality, and customer-service standards; resolving problems; identifying construction management system improvements;
  • Meet project budgets and timelines by monitoring site activities and expenditures; identifying variances; implementing corrective actions;

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of basic project management techniques (i.e.progress measurement and earned value technique) and experience in estimation, cost monitoring, analyzing and reporting;
  • Experience in underground mine development is an asset
  • Ability to establish priorities and work under pressure to meet project deadlines;
  • People management skills and experience managing Contractor personnel is an asset;
  • Working knowledge of regular financial and procurement processes, preferably in construction or engineering projects is an asset;
  • Good work ethic and strong attitude towards safety;
  • Knowledge of Ontario OH&S Act & Regulations is considered an asset;
  • Experience working at a remote work site is considered an asset;
  • Experience working in SAP or similar Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS);
  • Excellent working knowledge of all Microsoft Office Suite applications especially Outlook, Excel, Word & PowerPoint.

  • Schedule: 14/14 or 7/7 schedule at our Detour Lake Mine;
  • Accommodations and meals are provided on site at no cost to the employee. Agnico Eagle provides transportation to and from the mine site and will accommodate to cover other travelling expenses according to your location of residence in Canada.
